4. viikko

Neljäs viikko täällä jo mennyt! Ei tunnu yhtään että täällä olis ollut neljä viikkoa, mutta niinhän ne sanoo, että kun on hauskaa aika menee siivillä. Viikko meni hyvin, ei mitään normaalista poikkeavaa. Kaikki toiminta keskittyy lähinnä viikonloppuihin. 

Perjantaina käytiin poikien kanssa elokuvissa kattomassa Inside Out, Pixarin uusi leffa. Hauska ja koskettava samaan aikaan. Suomessa se tulee ulos vasta tällä viikolla (28.8.), kannattaa mennä katsomaan. Viha on paras hahmo! 

Lauantaina tapasin uuden kaverini Tarun, au pairina myös Irlannissa. Käytiin vähän shoppailemassa ja kävelemässä Dublinissa, oli tosi hauskaa. Vaikka ekaa kertaa tavattiin, tuntuu että olis tuntenu pidempääkin. Phoenix Parkissa käytiin picnicillä ja käveltiin vähän ympäri. Parissa sarjiskaupassa käytiin, Disney kaupassa tietenkin ja River Islandissa, josta vihdoinkin hankin käsilaukun, joka on ollut hankinta listalla parisen kuukautta jo. Ostin myös pari puhelimenkuorta pienestä suojakuori kaupasta. Yhdellä kadulla oli monia katusoittajia, mutta yksi kolmen miehen ryhmä jäi mieleen, laulajalla tosi hyvä ääni ja soittivat hyvin. 

Sunnuntai oli heppailu päivä jälleen, sateesta huolimatta. Harjattiin vaan Dutchess, ei ratsastettu, koska kentät olivat vähän huonossa kunnossa sateen takia. Autolla seikkailtiin, melkein eksyttiin, TRI Equestrian Superstoreen. Iso kauppa täynnä tarvikkeitta hevoselle ja ratsastajalle.  Siellä olevassa kahvilassa syötiin lounasta. Sen jälkeen takaisin tallille viemään tavarat sinne ja päästämään heppa ulos tallista.

4. week

Fourth week already gone in here! Doesn't feel like I've been here for four weeks at all, but they say that when you have fun time flies. Week went well, nothing out of normal. Usually all the action is in the weekends. 

On Friday we went to cinema with boys to see Inside Out, new movie from Pixar. Funny and touching at the same time. It comes out in Finland this week (28.8.), go and see it. Anger is the best character!

On Saturday I met my new friend Taru, she's an au pair in Ireland also. Went to shopping a bit and walked around Dublin, had so much fun. Even thought we met for the first time, it felt like we have known each other longer. We had a little picnic in Phoenix Park and walked around there. Visited couple comic book stores, of course Disney Store and River Island, where I bought a handbag I should have bought a few months ago. I also bought two phone cases from a little phone case shop. One street had many street performers, but one band with 3 guys in it stayed in mind, they were really good. The singers voice was good and they played very well.

Sunday was a horsey once again, despite the rain. We only groomed Dutchess, we didn't ride because of the rain the arenas weren't in the best shape. Had a little adventure by car, almost got lost, to TRI Equestrian Superstore. Big store full of stuff for riders and horses. There was also a cafe, where we had a lunch. After shopping and lunch we headed back to stables to drop off the stuff we bought and let horse back to the field.

Pojat takaisin leirille maanantaina, eli paluu arkeen. Maanantai-iltana juhlittiin perhen isän synttäreitä, oli kakku ja muita herkkuja. Tiistaina vanhin pojista oli vähän kipeänä leirin jälkeen, joten ensimmäinen potilas hoidettu täällä. Koko viikon ajan pojat satuttivat itsensä leirillä, milloin valitettiin kättä ja milloin jalkaa. Viikko oli yhtä vammojen hoitoa. 

Lauantaina kävin itsenäisesti vähän ratsastamassa ja hoitamassa hevosta ja illan sai rentoutua ihan rauhassa kotona, kun perhe lähti ystäväperheen luo yöksi. 

Sunnuntaina ensimmäistä kertaa kävin Dublinin keskustassa, kyllä ensimmäistä kertaa, kaikki viikonloput on mennyt hevosten parissa. Kävelin sinne ja takaisin, kotoa matkaa sinne kertyy n. 5 kilometriä. Varsinaisesti en mennyt katsomaan nähtävyyksiä, kävelin lähinnä keskustassa vähän katselemassa elämää siellä. O'Connell Streetilla oli ihan vaikuttava ihmislauma, ettei oikein tehnyt mieli sinne lähteä, mutta pitihän siellä käydä. Vähän tuli shoppailtua itselleen ja rakkaalle ystävälle Suomeen. Ensi viikonloppuna olisi tarkoitus lähteä kunnolla nähtävyyksiä tutkimaan, uuden kaverin kanssa.

3. week

Boys went back to the sport camp on Monday, so back to ordinary life. On Monday evening we celebrated family's father's birthday, we had a cake and other yummy food. On Tuesday the oldest boy was little sick after camp, so the first patient has been taken care of. Every day for the whole week boys hurt themselves at the camp. When the arm was hurt and when the leg was hurt. The whole week I've took care of wounds. 

On Saturday I went to ride Dutchess by myself for a bit and got to relax in the evening, when the family went to their friends house for overnight. 

On Sunday I went to Dublin city centre for the first time, yes for the first time, all my weekends I've been riding. I walked there and back, from home it's about 5 kilometers. I didn't actually go sightseeing, I just went to walk around and look how life's there. In O'Connell Street had a sea of people, wasn't really keen to go there first, but I just had to. Did some shopping to myself and for my dear friend in Finland. Next weekend I planned to go really sightseeing with my new friend.

Heppailu viikko

Hevostelu viikko

Toka viikko oli varsinainen hevostelu viikko. Maanantaina katsomassa esteratsastusta, lauantaina Dublinin Horse Show:ssa ja sunnuntaina itse ratsastamassa. Maanantai täällä oli Bank Holiday, eli toimistot ja kaikki pankit suljettuna, tämän takia pojillakaan ei ollut olleenkaan leiriä, eli olivat koko viikon kotona.

Maanantaina oli siis kahden ratsastuskoulun väliset estekilpailut Summerhillissa. Lauantaina Horse Show, oli vähän eri koko luokkaa kuin Helsingin Horse Show. Kahdeksan eri areenaa, shoppailu halli, ruokakojuja monta kymmentä ja lisää kojuja shoppailua varten. Eikä Dublinin Horse Show ole pelkästään hevosihmisille, siellä oli ohjelmaa ihan jokaiselle. Ensimmäiset shoppailut tuli tehtyä siellä, sukkia, chapsit, hanskat ja fleece liivi. Sunnuntaina sitten pääsi kokeilemaan uusia välineitä.

Sunnuntai-iltana mentiin perheen isän vanhemmille illalliselle ja pieni muotoisesti juhlittiin perheen isän synttäreitä ennakkoon. Kotiin ajettiin Phoenix Parkin ja keskustan läpi, näki niitäkin siinä vähäsen.

Horse week

The second week has been a horse week. On Monday we went to see show jumping, on Saturday we were in Dublin Horse Show and on Sunday we went riding. Monday was a Bank Holiday here, offices and banks were closed, because of that boys didn't have a sport camp at all, so they were home.

On Monday there was a jumping competition between two stables in Summerhill. On Saturday, Horse Show, and we're talking about big differences between Dublin Horse Show and Helsinki Horse Show. Eight different arenas, shopping hall, food stands ja more stands for shopping. Dublin Horse Show isn't just for horse people, there was something for everyone. I did my first shoppings in there also, socks, chaps, gloves and fleece vest. On Sunday I got try them in real action. 

Sunday evening we went to family's father's parents house for dinner and we celebrated father's birthday beforehand. On our way home we drove through Phoenix Park and city centre, so I got see them a little as well.

Eka viikko Irlannissa takana! Ollut aivan mahtavaa, perhe on kiva, tykkään tosi paljon. Koira ja hevonen löytyy perheestä myöskin. Se että perheellä on hevonen, on aivan fantastista pääsen aloittamaan ratsastuksen taas. Ja heti tokana päivänä olin hevosen selässä, mikä oli todella outoa neljän vuoden tauon jälkeen. (Taustaa niille, jotka eivät tiedä, ratsastin säännöllisesti seitsemän vuotta ja lopetin neljä vuotta sitten). Viime viikon lauantaina olin tokaa kertaa hevosen selässä ja meni paljon paremmin, kuin ekalla kerralla.

Muuten viikko on mennyt totutellessa elämään täällä ja tutustuessa lähialueeseen. Pojat on mukavia ja todella avuliaita. Tulemme hyvin toimeen poikien kanssa. Dublinin keskustaan en ole vielä ehtinyt tutustua, mutta maaseutua on kyllä nähty hevostelun merkeissä. :) Lähellä kotia on ihastuttava pieni leipomo, Corner Bakery, josta saa hyviä kuppikakkuja. Siellä on tullut käytyä pari kertaa.

1. week

First week in Ireland! It's been amazing, the family is very nice, I like it here. They have a dog and a horse. It's so fantastic that the family has a horse, I get to go riding again. On my second day I was back on horse which was really weird first after four years. (For those who don't know, I used to go riding once a week for seven years and I quit four years ago). Last weeks Saturday I went riding again and it went so much better than the first time.

Anyways the first week went by getting to know my surroundings and getting used to the lifestyle here. The boys are nice and very helpful. We get along just fine. I haven't visited Dublin city centre yet, but I've seen the countryside when I've gone riding. :) Near home there is a lovely bakery, The Corner Bakery, where you can get good cupcakes. Gone there couple of times.
